For some reason, Denny, our local rock station, KYNO-AM never played the record (Hungry, Good Thing and Ups and Downs, conversely, did get airplay) so I never got to hear it much. It's really one of their best efforts, I think.
I looked up some stuff about them on Wikipedia, and it makes sense to me why Harpo, Smitty and Fang departed in 1967. My interest in the band waned after they left. I did like Happening '68 and It's Happening, but mostly for the guest artists that appeared.
On this particular topic, which is another good one, BTW, I can only think of Love Is Only Sleeping by The Monkees, where Micky's Moog at the end sounds like the plug was pulled on it.
