Eartha Kitt, sultry singer, dancer and actress who clawed her way out of poverty and into superstardom, including the "Batman" TV show as Catwoman #3 (replacing Julie Newmar), died last Thursday of complications from colon cancer. She was 81 years young and was still performing as of two months ago.
Ironically, as her death came on Christmas morning, her biggest hit record was the 1954 holiday classic "Santa Baby", which still enjoys heavy airplay over the Christmas season.
