It's so sad we finally get a solo Ms. Marvel comic except she dosnt even remotely look like Ms. Marvel oh and shes not called Ms. Marvel anymore. no mask ? no hair? the only reason I am going to give this book a shot is I have hopes that the character Carol will still be the same(well reasonably the same)
so far they have done away with all but the sash, anything else gos in the bin it will make the whole thing somewhat pointless. I mean they change too much and they might as well have started with a whole new character.
when you boil it all down is there anything left of the great superhero we all adored for many years? this whole thing might end up being a very short run. I can't be the only one who is more concerned than excited.
they should at least give her her hair or mask back, I guess what I'm really saying here is I don't like change and I really hope this new version of Carol holds true and the comic dosnt suck.
If they ruin her personality as well...what a shame thats all I can say. Well that and I hope I'm wrong and it's as good as her last book. --Previous Message-- : EGADS! : what a boring outfit.... : bring back the thigh high boots & : whiplash hair... : : --Previous Message-- : This is amazing news! I am very, very, : very : excited! I will pick this book up, for sure. : In this interview the author Kelly Sue : DeConnick urges us to pre-order: : : : : http://www.newsarama.com/comics/wondercon-2012-captain-marvel.html : : Here is Carol's new look. The reception : among fans seems to be quite controversial, : but I like it. : : : : --Previous Message-- : OMG - Best News E.V.E.R...! Great new : costume : design that incorporates original elements , : looks fresh AND Iconic and elevates Carol to : the position I have always wanted to see her : in and reckon she thoroughly deserves - as : Marvels Premiere Female (Non-Mutant) Hero... : and Marvels equivalent to DC's Wonder : Woman... plus it puts the Captain Marvel : name to use via a character that has strong : connections to and appeared with the : Original. I hope we get to see Marv, Genis, : Phyla, Hulkling and Nov-Ahrr (sp?) as some : of her supporting cast - : : Carol has really come into her own since : Busiek brough her back with Heroes Return : Avengers... the arc of redemption involving : Alcoholism allowed her to work past all the : Rogue / Marcus / Brood tribulations and he : powered her down a bit by putting her : White-hole on the fritz (Binary-level powers : on earth made her just too powerful) : : Carol showed her leadership qualities in : late issues of Vol 3... she stepped it up in : early issues of NA... Got to prove her quals : as leader of MA and with her strikeforce in : her second series... for me Carol was the : (Non-Mutant) female of the 2000's. She is : more VERSATILE thanother female avengers : (IMO) with her Strength, Speed, Tactics, : Energy Manip, Determination, Experience... : but has a couple of weaknesses so that she : doesnt become a boring 'Deus Ex Machina' : snooze-fest : : Ms Marvel vol 1 No 5 was the first comic I : ever bought (I was 6) and she has been my : favourite ever since... : : Congratulations Carol - IMO you have earnt : it..! : : : --Previous Message-- : I guess most of you have already seen this, : but nobody has posted it yet (and it really : deserves a thread): there is some rumor : around that Carol might get another ongoing : series although not under the name "Ms. : Marvel" but "Captain Marvel". : Look here: : : : : : : http://www.bleedingcool.com/2012/03/12/kelly-sue-deconnick-reinvent-ms-marvel-as-captain-marvel/ : : I don't know how trustworthy the author of : this blog is. Therefore I am trying to be : not too excited. On Saturday we will get : some reliable information from Marvel. I : keep all my fingers crossed that this is : really true. : : : : : : :
