Okay, this book and the one preceding it, are half a story about New Avengers back in 1959 and the current team of New Avengers. Gotcha. I hope that the connection is made sometime, but all right.
Meanwhile, Ms. Marvel is in a fight with Superia (Dr. Wentworth) and is getting the crap knocked out of her. I looked up Superia. She is extremely intelligent and can project concussive blasts. Well, the last I heard, Carol Danvers can absorb energy of almost any sort- up to and including a nuclear blast, and then fire that energy away in the form of a photonic blast.
I am getting sick and tired of Bendis conveniently forgetting the abilities of characters when it suits him. I don't require Ms. Marvel to necessarily win every fight, but she ought to be giving as good as she gets!
I'm going to be very disappointed if she continues to get trashed in this fight. Of all the characters present, Carol Danvers ought to be able to clean Superia's clock.
