I've been reading on this board, as well as other sites lately, and I'm wondering what will happen after issue 50. Alot of people are guessing(and hoping) that Carol will take on the name Captain Marvel, while Karla will stay on as Ms. Marvel. Now me, the idea's okay to a point, but my question is this: Will Carol still be in the Ms. Marvel issues if that happens? Or will she start a new series?
Normally this kinda thing from Marvel wouldn't bother me, because they've been know to mess with their characters like that(espiecially Carol). But my problem is this; I've just put in a special order at my local comic shop so I could start keeping up with Ms. Marvel issues. If Carol gets taken off the series for good so she can start a new one as Captain Marvel, then that means I'll be stuck with Karla as Ms. Marvel. Allow me to say that again: Carol will be off the series and we'll ALL BE STUCK WITH KARLA AS Ms. Marvel!!!
I know alot of Moonstone fans might like this idea, but not me. As I've been saying, I've become a true fan of Ms. Marvel just last year, and I'm just now getting a good collection of her comics. If Carol(The real & MAIN Ms. Marvel in my eyes) gets taken off of her own series for good, there'll be no reason to collect these Ms. Marvel issues anymore. I mean, sure, I could continue to collect issues of Karla as Ms. Marvel while beginning a new collection of Carol as Captain Marvel. But what's the point?
To me, ever since the Civil War, Marvel's gone to hell. It's trying to come back, but then we get the Secret Invasion, followed by Dark Reign. I'm sad to say after 2002, I've hardliy picked up much of comics(but I still keeped up with Spidey & such), and when Civil War hit, I wanted to start my comic collection fresh. That's about the time I've truely started to descover just what a great, but under played character Ms. Marvel(Carol Danvers) is. And just when I start to collect her own series, they throw this War of the Marvels at me. But then to hear that Carol may not be on her own comic anymore?!
Enough is enough from Marvel's crap. I know I'm not the only one to think Carol's getting the short stick again. But for me, it's twice as upsetting to find out that I may have went to the trouble to start collecting Ms. Marvel for NOTHING!
