While I've got the floor, there's something i've been wanting to ask you guys for awhile now. Has anyone ever wrote a fan fiction story of Ms. Marvel before? When I first found this site, it was linked to a site called "This Woman, This Warrior; The Carol Danvers Homepage." I've seen many great things on this site: Comic covers of Ms. Marvel issues, pictures, fan art And fan fiction.
Some of the stories these fans did was kinda cool. But, like all things, they were always cut short and left me wanting more. Right before I found this site, I began to do a fan fiction of Ms. Marvel of my own. Not wanting to base it on Earth 616, I began thinking of a alternate story for her, kinda like a "What If" fan story. After buying the 2nd season of the X-Men cartoon(1990's), I thought of the perfect story.
Based on this series, my story takes place after episode 22: "A Rogue's Tale". On that episode, Mystique & the Brotherhood trick rogue into going to the hospital where Carol Danver's body lays in a coma after Rogue steals her powers. But at that same time, the part of Carol inside Rogue fought to take over her body. To make the episode short, Rogue wins the mind war & rejects Mystique's offer to return to her. The episode ends with Rogue visiting Carol at the hospital, and shows a hint that Carol may come out of the coma.
Now, you guys know of Marcus? Yes, Marcus. Son of Immortus and the son of Kang(his father's are the same dude from a different reality). The Immortus's Marcus was stuck in limbo, and to anyone who's ever read Avengers vol. 1 #200,I DON'T NEED TO EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENS! But for those who haven't read it, to keep it short, Marcus controls her mind and "USES" her. Now Kang's Marcus was totally different, and was around during Avengers vol. 3, when Carol was Warbird. He was enchanted by her beauty, but he was a noble man, and tried to win Carol's trust instead of just using her. Carol didn't trust him, but allowed him to help her stop his father, Kang. But in the end, Kang killed Marcus for this act.
Now at the beginning of this story, a new version of Marcus awakes inside Kang's abanded base in a Limbo-like pocket realm. He has no memories of his past, but knows just how to use the ship and all of it's technology. after accessing the ship's main computer, he learns all about Kang, the Avengers, and the different versions of himself. He also learns of Carol Danvers, how the different versions of him was affected by her beauty as well as her strength. After coming to terms with this info, he decides to use Kang's tech to head to a reality of Earth and help protect it. It's then he finds the reality where Carol stays in a coma at a hospital, and chooses to go there.
Marcus goes by the name Stephen Marcus, and after setting himself up as a well rich tech designer, he goes to the hospital to visit Carol(about a day after episode 22). Not long after his visit, Carol wakes from her coma, but has no memory of what happened to her. After claiming himself as Carol's boyfriend, she's released from the hospital and she decides to stay with Marcus at his pent-house appartment in New York. After about a month together, Carol begins to reclaim her life again, although she doesn't remember herself as Ms. Marvel(YET) and most of her past memories are fuzzy at best. She gets a job working as an ad editor for Marcus's small but well known company, and it's not long before they fall in love.
However, after watching the news one night and seeing Rogue on T.V., Carol's mind quickly flashes, and she begins to remember herself as Ms. Marvel and what happened to her. Marcus then comes clean with Carol, and explains who he really is and where he came from. He explains to Carol that he can use Kang's technology to give her back her powers. But still shocked by all this, she leaves Marcus. Now this is about as far as I am in making out the plot of the story before writing more of it, but I do know what'll happen next.
After helping someone in an allyway, Carol remembers how much she misses being a hero. She returns to Marcus and asks for his help. after putting her to sleep, he places her in a pod-like machine that amps up her Kree/Human evolution. It not only restores her powers, but makes her able to absorb and control energy(in other words, makes her at Warbird level). After getting her powers back, Carol becomes Ms. Marvel once again, and has many adventures. And Marcus, using Kang's Scarlet Centurion body suit, as well as powers alittle like Carol's, he takes the name "Scarlet Marvel",(because he wears the body suit of Scarlet Centurion with a mask like Carol's).
That's all I've got so far. Tell me what you think.
