: The only problem is she is instantly
: "second fiddle" to Captain Marvel.
: She gets her powers from him; when he tries
: to save her. For the rest of the movie; it
: wouldn't make sense for him not to save the
: day (since he would have the original powers
: and experience) over Carol.
Good point.
:
: I love the idea of her starting off human
: and on a military base. And the idea of the
: Skrull invasion (Brood would be more
: appropriate, but a little too much Starship
: Troopers to work).
:
: Why not have a Kree person appear; during
: the conflict; and inform her she has ALWAYS
: been Ms. Marvel; but she doesn't know
: it/sleep agent. And she was sent to Earth
: to protect it. Maybe half Kree/human? And
: she now must become the hero she was born to
: be?

Very nice idea! And to develop it a little bit: we do not need the Kree person to inform Carol who she is. Only a characteristic event which triggers some of her memories. It would still be necessary, I think, to say something about her true biography and the origin of her powers. But this could be done on a "who am i" subplot, where Carol tries to recover still missing memories while she is fighting the evil aliens. In this context it would even be possible to make contact to the first few issues of the first Ms. Marvel series where Ms. Marvel and Carol Danvers are separate persons, sharing the same body without knowing about each other.
