... but I cannot WAIT for Karla to be gone from this book, so I can stop supporting Brian Reed's lifestyle with my hard-earned money. Because Karla's star turn in the Ms. Marvel title has got to be one of the most wretched pieces of tripe I have EVER read. EVER.
Every issue that I buy, I'm bombarded with a flatly-written, foul-mouthed, murder-happy b###h who literally thinks nothing of killing her own mother, or kidnapping and then dropping people to use either as a confessional or as a distraction. What happened to the shady, devious, amoral woman who would've had Carol SO pissed off during their fight that she couldn't think straight? What happened to the Karla that was so magnificently-portrayed in Thunderbolts?
This "War of the Marvels" story, while (sometimes) beautifully illustrated by Sana Takeda, has been an utter waste of time and money. Where's the manipulation? Where's the phasing? Where is it?
Why is Ms. Marvel powerful enough to break out of a chair that Sentry and Ares *together* couldn't break out of?
Why do we learn things like "the babies formed a mental link with Karla" and "Catherine Donovan is a genetic match for Carol Danvers" in the damned footnotes?
Why would Karla tell Norman that she snuck around the AIM base as a civvie (which is totally in keeping with her character) when she just barreled in like a thug (which is not really her style at all)?
Why would Karla kill her mother for seeing her as a failure (obviously she cared what her mother thought of her, despite established evidence to the contrary), and not kill Clint (because you know she thinks he feels the same way about her, and you KNOW she cares what he thinks of her more than anyone else)?
Why did Reed run with that IDIOTIC "fat Ms. Marvel" joke, when it's not humorous in the SLIGHTEST when he used it?
And most important of all...
Why are so many fans of Karla actually cheering this book starring a woman that is Karla Sofen in name only?
