Sorry, but you still have an incomplete picture here. SOME of the events that led to Carol's battle with alocohol were decades prior. Others were very recent, such as the loss of her cosmic powers and the effect that had on her.

It was not any one thing that happened to Carol which caused her drinking problem--it was *everything* that happened to her, over a long period of time, that caused this problem to develop.
