The Secret Invasion crosses into the Ms. Marvel title!
Why did it take 3 days after the Brood incident for Stark to accuse Carol of being a Skrull? Who can our favorite heroine turn to after being framed by the Skrulls? Some readers might think this is justice for helping Stark in the Civil War. Marvel has made a list of pivotal characters on their website. Well, I don't put much stock on their explanations. But now who can Carol trust to help her combat this?
Likely allies:
1. New Avengers - Promising, but the team could be breaking up soon. With Dr. Strange gone they lack sufficient firepower. Finally, they still don't know how to identify Skrulls.
2. Thor - a powerful ally but I doubt he and Asgard are willing to commit to any side.
3. Fantastic Four - also promising, but since Reed is a close ally to Stark they might not trust her.
4. X-Men - they're no good to anybody after Messiah Complex. Getting them involved could end up earning more mistrust and fear from the public.
5. She-Hulk - a good ally if she didn't have a Skrull partner in disguise. Carol might not trust them.
6. Omega Flight - it would be funny if they end up saving America from the invasion.
7. Carol's parents? Yes, even heroes can find sanctuary in their old home. But during the days after she lost her memories she's been distant from them. It will be hard to convince them she's really their daughter.
8. New Warriors - she doesn't know who they are and how to find them. There's no basis for trust.
9. Wakanda - also a powerful ally, but with the bad foreign relations it would be hard to difficult keep them as allies.
10. Herself - should Carol trust the alternate Carol from issues #9-10? Two Carols are better than 1, as long as both aren't Skrulls.
Or maybe Ms. Marvel should just fight the impostor until one of them turns green?
