At first I was a bit surprised when Bendis started writing her as having a grudge against Pym, but then when I thought about it, it makes sense. Just as there are members of the readership who hate Pym for what he did, it only makes sense that there will be characters in the MU who feel the same way. Also, unlike most of the other Avengers who are still friends with Hank (like Tony, Cap, Clint, etc), Carol did not have a prior friendship with him before the incident where he slapped Jan. Hank was not an active Avenger during Carol's original membership stint, so she never had a lot of contact with him to become friends. Carol did, however, serve with Jan, so she is closer to her than she is to Hank, and therefore more likely to side with Jan. Plus with Carol's particularily strong feminist attitudes, it is not surprising she'd be particularily unforgiving of domestic violence. What really surprised me is that when I look back, there was already prior precedent for Carol not getting along well with Hank. In one issue of her original series, there is a thought bubble of Carol getting pissed off at a somewhat sexist comment Hank makes, about wanting to shove the words down his throat. And during Busiek's run, there is a scene where Carol snaps at Pym for being too busy congratulating himself on his work and not focusing enough on helping the innocent people. So I do think it is in-character for Carol to have a bit of a grudge against Hank, as long as she doesn't let it interefere with their professional relationship--Carol is too much of a pro for that.

: I love the use of thought balloons in this
: work. Carol's thoughts on Pym are very
: enlightening and amusing at the same time.
: Is that how she REALLY feels??
