Posted by Binaryan on 4/30/2007, 4:42 pm, in reply to "Ms. Marvel relationship to Captain Marvel" She was rescued by Mar-Vell several times and grew attracted to him. She eventually made the moves on him and though he was tempted, he remained loyal to his Kree paramour, Una. Carol became a pawn in his rivalry with Yon-Rogg which led to her becoming Ms. Marvel. This deepened the bond between them... which remained platonic with plenty of romantic undertones. Carol did not learn of Mar-Vell's death until after her transformation into Binary. She was distraught as she had hoped he could help her deal with her new cosmic nature. Flying to his grave on Titan, she realized that she could not truly grieve for Mar-Vell because of her lack of emotional attachment to ther memories of him. This was due to the Rogue memory/power absorption. This epiphany led to her decision to leave Earth and join the Starjammers. Ryan

Carol was the chief of security at Cape Canaveral when Mar-Vell arrived on earth. She was investigating him for NASA and seeking his capture, while working side-by-side with his human alter ego Walter Lawson.
