I have been wondering about this myself because Syd turned 12 in September and has become increasingly non-compliant unless she knows a reward is forthcoming. She has perfected the art of not hearing. UGH. She does have trouble with one ear but she can hear me *whisper* "cookie" from across the room just fine. And, frequently her expression basically reads "eff you". Glad to hear that I am not alone in this. LOL.
