Still no final word, but my teammate Carol is trying to get a home check scheduled, so apparently she is the top contender at this point. We are prepared to fly to Boise to meet this dog next week. Unfortunately, Carol did go to the tournament this weekend because her dog was tapped for another Open team... which means she could not be home for the home check when the volunteer was available this weekend. I hope this doesn't hold everything up because if there is a lack of closure for too much longer, my head might explode.
Despite these glitches, it looks as if Carol will be adopting Kimber assuming everyone likes each other on meeting.
She's thinking of the name Nano. I like it! I argued for Micro (Micro-Inara), which I love, but Carol insists it will be shortened to Mike which she says is not OK. This is a woman with a female dog named Spam, so I'm not sure exactly how it violates her standards, but it's not up to me!
