Doubt Basenji. Doesn't make sense.
The foster already has applications from us, and you're not at the head of the line. It's not dependent on who gets there first (thank goodness).
The reason there's something toy in her face is her size. That look comes from the fact that eyeballs stay the same size no matter how big or small the dog's head is. If it's a small dog with a small head, there is some bulging around the eye sockets to make room for the un-shrunk eyeballs. You get that bulgy-eyed look as a result, no matter what breed you bred down from. So you get very toy looking Aussies that really are from 100% Aussie lines (something few people and fewer Aussie breeders seem to grasp -- it "must" have Pom in it, is always their explanation).
She is being spayed tomorrow and we are waiting with bated breath for news....
