We used to shave Allie, then she got "clipper alopoecia" - hair wouldn't grow back in parts. I heard it was due to letting the clippers get too hot...so this summer DBF gave her a scissors cut which in my opinion looks awful, but Allie loves being cool. her coat is like nickels..super undercoat and not that nice on the top. But she is always dirty...anbd she really dosn't care. It's just my own dog vanity!!! If you do shave, don't shave close to the skin.
