I would also say that neutering him at this age will not calm him down -- he is a puppy. He will have the same need for activity and training for quite a while yet. Ridgebacks are mentally puppies until they're about 18-24 mo. old, especially the male, so you'll have to keep working with him regardless of the neuter age.
My own boy was neutered at 7 mo. (he is now 12), and he did not get "leggy" or have other growth issues at all like some of the later-neutering research seems to indicate. He is a proportioned 26", 78 pound male. I had his brother neutered at 17 months and he ended up being the leggier and less developed of the two. It definitely depends on the dog.
Still, I have to say that 95 pounds for a 7 mo. old sounds very large. How big were his parents? Do you have photos of him?
