To answer your follow-up questions, I don't necessarally plan to breed my dog. There just aren't many ridgebacks in the area. Plus he's not particularly aggressive, or territorial, or any such behavior that would warrant me neutering him thus far.
Now I THINK that the day he was diagnosed with a murmor was the time he got damn-near eaten alive by mosquitos (like 200 welts all over his body), which would've made him 9 months old. Perhaps that had something to do with it. Judging from everyone's input, and given the fact that it's never been detected since, I'm not going to worry about it for now.
