I agree with Alyssa. Having a child is an experience that can take you over -- emotionally, hormonally -- and make you practically unrecognizable, even to yourself. And every relationship in the family, including yours with your dog, is going to be profoundly affected. You clearly care about the dog, or you wouldn't be posting the message. So my suggestion would be to give it a little more time, try to spend some time with the dog as Alyssa suggested, see if your husband can spend more time with the dog himself, and see if you find yourself feeling differently. Post-partum depression comes in many forms, and I would also suggest talking to your doctor about what you're going through. Some support in the form of therapy might be helpful, too.
