I have a 2 year old female RR, Ghillie. She is our first and I am absolutely hooked on this breed. I have worked very hard for the past two years training her and I feel like she is very well behaved. She sits and stays when guests enter our home, she stays in a down position when we eat dinner, she waits to eat at my command, walks well on the leash, you get the idea...My main problem is getting her to come when she doesn't want to. If she gets out of the house she will not come, fortunately that has only happened twice. I take her to an off leash dog park (50 acres) a few times a week. She loves to go to a certain area where there are a lot of trees to chase squirrels. Of course, this is an area where she is not supposed to be. Occasionally I lose sight of her and I get nervous, beyond that is a parking lot. I take cheese (her favorite treat) and will call her, give her a treat, and have her go off again. This only works if SHE wants to come. Does anyone have any ideas for me? I think this is partly a breed thing? I am nervous she will get hurt. Thank You!
