I recently tried the Pedi Paws cordless and found it to be useless. The two c-cell batteries were dead before I got one nail trimmed! I just returned it to the store a few days ago.
There was a big discussion on rr-folk awhile back and the consensus was that the Peticure Elite was a pretty good cordless model for RR's. I haven't tried it myself. I think the limiting factor for me would be the batteries- we have three RR's, all with nails as hard as, well, nails, lol. I manage pretty well with the electric version and so far, the cord has not been an issue for us.
Dremel has a new cordless Pet Nail trimmer version but I don't know anything about it. I saw it on their website and it does not look as if it has a shield, which is one feature I wish I did have to keep the dust from the nails down.
I know that someone, might be Peticure, sells an attchment shield for the Dremel but I haven't tried it yet.
