My dog seems to get plague faster than any dog I've ever seen. I'm always scraping/cleaning her teeth. I have friends who never touch their dogs teeth and they are pearly white no tarter at all.
I know in humans, some people have thicker saliva/drier mouth which in turn causes more plaque build up. Could dogs possibly be the same way? And if so why is this happening? She is always smacking her lips.
She's fed California naturals lamb and rice, supplemented with papaya enzymes, fish oils, and probiotics. She also gets veggie scraps to eat.Her teeth and gums are healthy, just full of tarter. No caries or gingivitis.
Does anyone know/heard about this problem?? And is there anything I can supplement to help her?
