Hi Carol Ann-
I'm stunped on the date thing. It seems that when Tchaka makes an entry, the date shown is for the day the entry was made. Since he just started the blog after we got home from Lansing ALL of the dates are in 2009. I can't figure out how to change them and I think maybe we're stuck with it the way it is.
If Tchaka could type a little faster he could get it caught up so that he could switch to present tense instead of past tense, but he's a little slow, lol.
If I'm wrong and anyone else here knows how to change the date I'd love a lesson in blogging (er, which I would then pass on to Tchaka!).
The funny thing about Tchaka's training is that I was a nervous wreck the entire time. I was determined that I would train him at home, myself, with some help from my husband, rather than sending him away to a gun dog school. But since neither of us had ever trained a bird dog before we only had a sort of vague idea of what we needed to do. I was so afraid that I was going to ruin him! But at the end of it all, when we finally started to hunt and saw that he could, and would, do it, it was such a rush! And in retrospect, we really didn't do all that much training with him- really just played around with him a bit and watched to see what would happen. But that little bit made a world of difference. Tchaka is my 6th RR, but the first to hunt. I wonder now if any/all of the others would have hunted had they been given the opportunity to do so as Tchaka was. Sara sure isn't too old to do more training with if you're really interested in having her hunt. And if you don't want to hunt, you can always do tracking which is just as much fun, IMO.
Cheers,
Elizabeth
