I understand that my thoughts regarding dogs who are a known bite risk aren't particularly pleasant for most people to consider. No one, including me, wants dogs to die. I get that. I respectfully disagree about the "second chance" idea only because failing at that second chance can have such a horrible ending. I've seen the permanent damage a RR bite can do to an adult and that's not something I take lightly.
Outside of Best Friends, I don't know of any other reputable organization that will responsibly care for dogs who bite. If there are others, I'd be interested in knowing more about them.
It's a sad situation all around, but particularly for the dog, who loses big-time, through no fault of his own.
