My brother's 2 yo altered male ridgeback has suddenly bitten 3 people in the past 2 weeks. All of which were strangers, 2 were children. Although the bites were not severe, we are all extremely concerned. He is seeing a vet who specializes in behavioral management on Saturday. The dog gets plenty of exercise and has been socialized with other dogs from the beginning. He gets along with my 2 golden retrievers fair, mostly avoids them. He has always been a bit leary of strangers, but has not displayed outright aggressive behavior prior to this time. He spends a lot of time at my home. I have 2 young boys--ages 3 and 6 and he is absolutely fine with them and has never displayed any aggressive tendencies. My brother is very strict with him and does tend to be what is in my mind a bit harsh at times. Does anyone who knows a lot about ridgebacks have any suggestions? Do you think that there is hope for correcting this behavior?
