I was afraid that's what you'd say! It's just so maddening not to be able to trust him. I'm positive he is healthy--coat looks great and weight is good-- so it's just an RR thing.... dang him.
I think what we have here is the Arch-typical RR: food-driven, smart, and sneaky! My two previous RRs were much easier, but they weren't as interesting, either. :- )
I forgot to mention that he also ate most of the walnut pie I'd made for Thanksgiving. That turned out to be OK because it turns out my son's new wife doesn't like walnuts! (I made a pecan pie to replace the one Nelson scarfed)
Thanks for your response. You made a lot of sense, and reinforced the idea of putting him in the crate when I can't be vigilant.
