Hi,
My RR, Nelson, is almost 4 years old. He is really smart, sweet, stubborn...typical RR!
What is making me ready to give up on him is his food stealing. Today he ate half my sandwich while I stepped out of the room to adjust the stereo. He had been sleeping peacefully in front of the fire, but he has food-radar like you wouldn't believe.
A couple nights ago he stole a cube of butter from the dining table right when my husband was sitting there. At Thanksgiving, with 11 people at the table, he sneaked up to the table while we were saying grace and attempted to steal a drumstick! Later that same night, he did manage to eat most of the dressing in front of all of us. We were all just struck immobile by his audacity.
Any ideas? Is this a general issue of lack of respect for us? He also opens the cupboards when possible, to steal from the garbage.
Help me, if you can.
Thanks!
Ann
