My RR is a 16 month old female, Ghillie. She is a really friendly dog and has had no issues with humans or dogs. I have three young daughters and recently Ghillie has become very protective of all of us in the house and yard. I love this and have been waiting for it, it does make us feel safe. My question; my husband's aunt walked into the house on Christmas - we did not let her in. I have figured out (this has happened a few times with various neighbors etc..) that if we don't let the person in, Ghillie goes on guard. Now, when it is someone we know, how do I get her to calm down? It got really embarrassing, she would not stop barking - and she never barks. I know I was not helping the situation, because I was too high strung. Should I just remove her? I don't want to necessarily discourage this behaviour, but am not sure how I should deal with it. Thank You for your help! Betsy
