I just wanted to give an update on Kito's thinning coat. Everyone is so helpful here. I'm thankful I found this site. I learn so much info by reading throug all the posts.
Anyway, after almost 3 weeks, it is now apparent to me that it is just that time of year when he sheds more than usual. I guess "blowing his coat". I have not had a dog that sheds before so I must have just been paranoid.
He has finished his antibiotices for his UTI and is doing great. I think I might give him a cranberry pill once a day, as I read it in an earlier post. Kito had surgery when he was just a few weeks old. His shaft did not grow out properly so the vet had to make the hole bigger, so he could urinate properly. Because of this, it is easier for him to get dirt, germs, etc in the area when he is playing and rolling around outside. Perhaps this sort of predisposed him to the UTI. Anyway, I'm going to do a better job at keeping the area extra clean. The cranberry pill should help as well.
Thanks again for helping. One day I hope to have the experience to help new RR owners in the way I have been helped.
