8 weeks? Wow. I thought it was more like 3-4. Well. I'll be sure to keep that tidbit in mind!
The good news is that because Harley is relatively young and has hopefully not been exposed to a b###h in heat before, he may not act quite like a more mature male might. Not that he's "safe" to have an in-season girl around, but that he might not be quite as annoying in the meantime. Finn was 17 months before he was neutered and right before that, he was in close proximity to b###hes in heat at a show and he never acted stupid or even interested.
Just keep them well-separated -- one is always in a crate; never try to swap dogs without having one already isolated -- and give your girl chlorophyll with her meals to help mask the scent. It'll turn her poo green, but it does work.
Thanks for looking out for this guy. I'm anxious to see him! He sounds like he'll be easy to place.

PS -- Make sure he gets a microchip, too, that has the primary contact info. registered back to you. (Secondary to new owner) That way, in case anything unforeseen happens, he will always have someone looking out for him.
