Just had to tell you my excitement tonight...these dogs never cease to completely amaze me.
I was in the kitchen doing dishes, the dogs were in the backyard after their supper, lights were on in the backyard and the kitchen light above the stove. My privacy fence makes it dark back by my garage, which I can see from the kitchen window. I heard the dogs bark, but then they came up onto the steps and I didn't think anything of it. Was just about to walk over to let them in, when T went COMPLETELY ballistic. I have never heard him bark like that....he scared me with the tone of his bark. I looked out the window, and someone was trying to get into the backyard. The girls were standing behind T totally silent but looked like they were ready to attack...T was bashing the gate with his body trying to get at whoever. I have never seen any of them do that before. My heart is still pounding. Scared the hell out of me. The cops were over here and are now patrolling. There have been alot of break-ins in the tri-county area, especially in town here. I heard an "oof" or an "ow" I'm not sure which, but I think they tried sticking their hand in and either T pinched with the fence or bit them...I'm not sure which.
Whoever it was I saw sneak around the other side of my garage and into the church parking lot and I lost sight of them then because of the garage. I went out to make sure all was secure in the garage and that my car was locked, and T and Ellie went into the house. Jaycee would not leave me. She wouldn't go out of the fence, but stayed there while I checked to make sure everything was locked up and then she followed me in.
I think I will stay up and do some laundry...sure won't be able to sleep for awhile. I don't know what I'd do without my hounds....
