So, on Sunday, I'm taking Selma to our local lure coursing practice. It will be our first try at lure coursing, and I'm interested to see how she likes it. Robert doesn't think she's going to course. I'm about 50/50 whether she will or won't.
Small and lighly built as she is, Selma can really run and swerve with the best of them. She is MUCH faster than Lu. (Although Lu, god bless him, is much less likely take out a bystander's knees than is Selma.) Of course, speed alone does not a courser make!
Anyway, I'm excited. One of my dog friends is way into coursing (he has a top-ranked b###h -- she finished 2007 as the #8 ranked AFSA and #18 RRCUS combined lure courser) and he'll be there on Sunday. He says he'll help us out.
In the mean time, those of you who have coursed your dogs, do you have any advice?
