Lu doesn't like dogs whose eyes are covered by fur. He also doesn't like breeds that are bigger than him or spotted. Harlequin great danes are about his least favorite dogs on earth. If they came in a long-coated variety, I think he would probably go into fits whenever he saw one.
I don't think its a hair vs fur difference that's setting Lu off. I think it's strictly appearance. And he can spot another ridgeback from a hundred yards.
