No show wins to report, lol, but I can still brag on my boys.
Walking through the woods the other day we were surprised by two young fawns who walked out of the fence row and approached us and the dogs. Not one of our four dogs even tried to chase them, including our hunters, Abby and Tchaka. Tsavo perked up when he saw them and acted curious but a single "no deer" command was enough to stop him in his tracks. We hustled the dogs down the trail pretty quickly, just in case they changed their minds, but we had no trouble from any of them.
Another brag on the puppy-
Tchaka went to his first obedience class last night. We missed the first class of the series last week because he and I were in Florida, and I was worried that he might have missed stuff and been behind already. I should add that he has never really had a training collar on nor done any real leash work. We tried teaching him to heel when he was around 13 weeks, but he was so scatter-brained and unfocused that the vet decided he needed a break so he could just work on growing- he went through a couple of major growth spurts around that time. We took 3 weeks off, then he got really sick and was down for a week, then we went to Florida for 3 weeks. So, I was nervous that he would be a disaster. No worries! He did better than any of the other dogs in the class last night and the instructor thought he was a little dream. He really made us proud, lol.
