dead tail

I was wondgering if anyone has experienced "cold tail" "limp tail" ? Walley, my 4 yr. old RR tail is very limp since last night. His tail is always up high and wagging!!!!!! But today it is just limp...he seems a little sad...it doesnt seem to hurt him though.... any thoughts? I did make a appointment to the vet this afternoon.
