Sorry to hear about Lucy's pad. ZOE had a similar problem - once - she was jumping around in the woods and punched a hole in her webbing between the pads. It was really bleeding; had to take her to the vet for stitches. While all this was going on, and if it happened again, I thought to myself I'd have to get her "boots" like the sled dogs have for running on ice/snow. Maybe that might help Lucy.
