This month's problem: Lucy keeps cutting her right carpal pad. I know it's from running and playing like a crazy banshee, because that's what she does best.
She first got a cut in the winter, from the snow and ice. Tore a small slice of her carpal pad off, but the bleeding was very minimal, so we took care of it at home with some neosporin and just kept it clean and made Lucy take it easy for a couple of days while it healed. No problem at all, it healed quickly.
A month or so ago, Lucy tore up the pad again - same one, same solution. It healed completely again.
Couple of days ago, same deal. She keeps ripping into the same pad! She doesn't seem bothered by it in the slightest, and we've been able to keep the cut clean at home, with no signs of infection. It's just the fact that it keeps happening! Is there anything we can do to prevent her from cutting it again so easily? Or do I just have to accept the fact that playing hard = occasional injuries?
