George, the indicator will be whether she gets better or worse over the next 24 hrs. If you can get her improving, I'd say it's an upset stomach. If you can't seem to make a dent in it or she starts acting funky, it's not just an upset stomach.
Also, and I'm sure everyone does something different, when mine get diarrhea, I usually fast them for one meal and then their next meal is JUST rice (usually cooked in low-sodium chicken broth). I find the fasting gives their GI tract a chance to empty. Then you can start over fresh.
