That sounds like how Lucy's campy started. Progressed quickly from soft stool to diarrhea to watery discharge. Lucy was going often and she strained a lot as well. It's the only time she's ever had accidents in the house. She just wasn't capable of holding it, even as often as we went outside...
The first time she had this, we assumed it was something she ate, so we fasted her for 24 hours and then started the mild diet of rice and chicken. However, when Lucy continued to get worse, that's when we went to the vet and had her stool examined under the microscope.
Obviously, this second time, the minute diarrhea started, we knew it was back. Lucy hasn't had diarrhea outside of this bacteria, and since we have that additional risk of sharing a common space with several other dogs, we knew it wasn't just a normal upset stomach. I'm very paranoid about it now, too!
Hopefully Reba just has an upset tummy. If she doesn't start to improve soon, I'd take a fresh stool sample to the vet, just to be safe. Just make sure she's getting plenty of fresh water! We knew poor Luc really wasn't feeling well when she didn't want water or ice cubes. She was getting dehydrated, obviously, so that is always a concern with diarrhea.
Good luck - keep us posted!
