We are definitely avoiding the worst of the common area now, and walking down the block a bit. I've also taken to wiping her paws with baby wipes each time we come inside. Lucy thinks this is great fun, as she feels it is her mission to try and eat the baby wipe. But... we do what we can. Now we just need to find our house and we'll feel much better about having control over our own yard!
