A good time to apply any sort of moisturizing treatment (I like Aquaphor or Musher's Secret.) is after a bath when their skin is damp. I also try to rub off some of the scaly dead skin/hair stuff in the shower so the cream can do its thing. The massage also increases circulation to the ear tips, which helps keep them healthy. I had ear splits one winter on both my boys and ever since I started doing this after each bath, we haven't had a problem.
