Lucius has dry ears, and I've been battling a split ear this winter. My breeder recommended Vitamin E oil. I've found it on both the cosmetics aisle and the vitamin aisle. The one I'm using on Lu's ears is 30,000 IU weight. I asked the vet about it, as well. This was the breeder's vet who sees all the show ridgebacks in Atlanta. (He could probably do OFA xrays in his sleep!) He said he really only sees dry and splitting ears in ridgebacks in his practice. And he recommends using Vitamin E oil for maintenance and liquid bandage for splits. Good Luck! It's been a pain in the tush around here. Keeping Lucius out of a crate and without a collar has helped lots.
