i'd listen to your breeder, i'm sure she knows way more about ridgebacks and her line than any trainer

- your b###h might get leggy if spayed too soon

- vets see so many dogs that they are almost programmed to say "spay and neuter", which i do agree with

if there is even the slighest chance your b###h might get pregnant, get her spayed now

i just went through my girl's first heat, at 9 months old, and it was tough. you absolutely need to keep her away from all males and leashed for the whole month. not to mention the mess.
