No need for any response - I trust that if a rat was in need of rescue that this blog is monitored and responded to, albeit there was no urgency in my inquiry and I'm not anyone known to anyone involved with rat rescue. I am assuming, of course, that given the number of monitors that the blog is "monitored" daily - perhaps not. I looked at the network extensively and while I commend you on your work and am well aware of the personal sacrifice of the volunteers, I felt that to adopt a rat from rescue would be akin to the frustration and pain experienced by the normal citizen ( not the Angelinas) trying to adopt a blue eyed blond newborn. Like it or not, it is, what it is. However, for me a happy ending: I found a rat puppy in a kill shelter out of state. Monday morning a phone call to the county dog warden. When I asked how much he weighed, I was told they have no scale, no vet. A private rescue followed. My husband immediately left his work, called his son who lived in the same state to pick up the dog, and the two guys drove toward each other ultimately turning the sick, stinky little guy over in a cornfield on a county road off the interstate. Those two guys are something. My husband especially turned himself inside out for me that day all because my heart had been torn days earlier when the rat who stole my heart was lost as a result of a wicked twist of fate. I'm a pretty lucky woman to have a guy who loves me like that and a rattie too! & Talk about a lucky dog! Jimmy's home.
