We are safe for the moment. Nearest fire so far was about 5 miles away. We do have smoke and ash depending on wind direction. Last night was the worst for smoke and we were making plans to evacuate our 25 horses. This morning the wind is changing so smoke is starting to head in another directions. It is smokey in the house and everywhere. A lot of ash is falling and looks like it is snowing.
We probably have enough pens set up at our new place in Temecula to accommodate the horses temporarily so have a place to move them to. The house is getting started and we will be erecting the hay barn soon. Then the horse barn and arena and round pen, etc. We are very excited about this move to the middle of horse valley in Temecula. For those of you with maps, we are on Aveneda Madera which is off of DePortola and Pauba Roads. Our place backs up to Temecula Creek and there are a lot of trails so it will be a good place to condition horses for show or endurance. We will be moved by late Winter or early Spring.
