you know it if you see it. If you feel spooked by their behavior or the way they look into you or anticipate you next move, then you have one of the VERY SPECIAL ratties. They don't all have it. Watch the way they watch you. It is very NOT DOG-LIKE. They spend a lot of time learning you, so they seem extra intuitive.
If the smart ones choose to, they can PLAY YOU like a fiddle. Many times you don't even know you are being played!!!
Most people can live without Ratties just fine until they've had one. Even if they have just a bit of what the BEST of a Rattie is, it is hard to live without from that point forward.
