It would be good if the neutral ground was a good, long walking distance from your house. Meet the new dog, and then walk the dogs side by side, back to your house. This will give them "something to do" as they get used to each other, everyone can walk and relax, then when you all get home, the dogs are good and tired, ready to nap. Be sure and feed them far away from each other at first, then gradually close the gap.
