floor shifter cable issue

Im putting a 2 speed floor shifter in my 67 CS with a ST300. Has anyone done this? I have a stock 67olds shifter and console. The cable I have is supposed to be factory issue. But the cable doesnt seem to be long enough. Or is it that the arm, were the cable pins up, on the pan is not back far enough? Does the ST300 use the other shifter that doesnt use the cable, the one that goes straight to the tranny?
