interchangability of 66 & 67 antenna masts

I have a 67 Cutlass, the antenna broke and I need something for an upcomming show. There's easy access to replacement 66 masts. I am wondering if the 66 and 67 masts both fit onto the same male part of the shaft extending up from the fender, meaning the circumference of the antenna's are the same? If so, I'll get by w/a 66 mast until a 67 is available.
