Just throwing this out there but...Back in the 70's, my dad had traded in a 1967 442 to Regan Ford in Haverhill, MA on a new mustang. I wish I had a vin for it but I don't. There are some key distinguishing factors about it...
It was a burgundy hardtop w/ bench seat, 455 from a newer car, which may have had a hole in the side of the block... There was also a 5 gallon USMC jerry can welded underneath with a washer pump that ended up under the dash in a hose attached to a loom of wires...the purpose was so the MP's wouldn't find the "mixed drink of the day" when he went to the movies on base.
It also had custom "wheat" hand painted scroll work down the sides and hood.
